Registered Katahdin Sheep

CV farms breeds top quality, Registered Katahdin Sheep.  Katahdin sheep are a "hair" sheep, differing from traditional "wool" sheep.  Katahdin sheep do not require sheering, and are easy to raise, friendly, docile, parasite resistant, and delicious sheep.

Registered Katahdin Sheep for Breeders / farms

If you are a farmer, and you want to bring in high quality sheep for breeding to add to your revenue, looking to add to your farm Katahdin Sheep are a fantastic option.  Obviously taking care of any animal requires work, and proper research is always encouraged.  The most important factor in starting your flock is getting high quality genetics to begin with.  We only sell the top percentage as "Registered Breeding Katahdins".  We track parasite resistance, and bring in high quality parasite resistant Rams.  When you hear about sheep having "problems with worms" etc, that person did not start with a top quality stock of sheep.

Katahdin Sheep for meat / farms / Homesteads

If you have a small farm, hobby farmer, or homesteader Katahdins are fantastic producers of delicious meat.  Not only can you sell enough to make a little money, but Katahdins typically have twins / triplets, and some farmers lamb twice/year, so you'll have quite a few around to sell, and plenty to eat.  Katahdin sheep are also fairly low maintenance.  You need good fencing, and we always recommend a Livestock Guardian Dog to ensure you lose 0% to predators. Because we reserve the best % of our sheep for Registered Breeding, buying a lamb/sheep that didn't "make the cut", but is still great quality is an excellent affordable way of starting a small flock.  We recommend buying the highest quality if you plan to have a large flock (over 20 or so), but for a small flock with minimal breeding, our commercial katahdin sheep are a great option to have affordable Katahdin sheep at your farm
